Ocean Motion International was founded with the mission to produce potable water and electricity in the most economical and environmentally friendly way, by capturing the ocean’s hydraulic force and converting it into a highly pressurized flow of water. The inventor of OMI, Hap Houser, started working on harnessing the power of the ocean in the 1970s. He perfected his ideas over the course of 25 years, along with countless hours of testing prototypes and machining new design iterations.

Hap Houser is the Founder of Ocean Motion International and the developer of the OMI WavePump system. He started his career at Statham Instruments, a manufacturer of products used to measure strain and pressure in oil exploration, aerospace guidance systems, medical monitoring instruments. During his 25 years at Statham, he worked progressively from tool room machinist to Manufacturing Manager. Mr. Houser managed Statham Puerto Rico for four years, where he created the Military Products Division and received international acclaim for developing unique electron beam welding applications. Following Statham Instruments, Mr. Houser worked 10 years as Operations Manager for Transducers Inc., then founded his own company, Electronic Force Measuring, Inc., a manufacturer of precision load cell transducers. His experience includes 41/2 years in the US Navy aboard the submarine USS Charr.
Since 1984, Dwight Houser has been a Senior Manager responsible for key projects directing multidisciplined activities at the National Energy Technology LaboratoryWest Virginia, Nevada Test Site, Bruce Power Nuclear PlantCanada, Rocky Flats Environmental Test FacilityColorado, Los Alamos National LaboratoryNew Mexico, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and many more facilities. His demonstrated expertise covers a wide range of experience in senior management, engineering, contract management, scientific disciplines and regulatory activities with project ranging in sizes between $50 M and $2.75 Billion. He has a Masters Degree in Environmental Management from the University of Denver in Colorado and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of LaVerne in California.
Matthew J. Houser has served in senior executive leadership roles for medical, aerospace, automotive, industrial, and marine industries since 1994. Mr. Houser currently leads manufacturing for The Oceanscience Group, a company that designs and sells instrumentation platforms for hydrologists, hydrographers and oceanographers. From 2004 to 2009, Mr. Houser held the position of Senior North American Manufacturing Manager for KyoceraTycom’s multiple U.S. manufacturing operations. Mr. Houser’s leadership positions encompass a broad range of management experience including operations, manufacturing, supply chain management and engineering. Mr. Houser earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Chapman University. He has served on Ocean Motion International Board of Directors since 1994.
Carl Piechowski has more than 20 years of experience in managing technology development projects, construction programs and complex government policies. He has analyzed and developed upgrades for aerospace test set systems and led technology development projects or programs involving non destructive assay of nuclear materials, critical infrastructure protection, cyber security and system training technology. Mr. Piechowski worked as a designer in engineering and construction for a major oil company, was a program manager for instrumentation and facility construction projects at synchrotron radiation light sources, neutron scattering facilities, and electron beam microcharacterization centers. He has a Master of Science degree in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University’s Whiting School of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University.
Kim Redlein specializes in design and logistics solutions for conventional and alternative energy technology. Over thirty years in construction, design, startup, system engineering, field testing, operations, and project management at Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD), and commercial nuclear facilities. He has taken numerous energy and material handling systems from concept to successful deployment. Kim developed alternative energy generation technology assessments for commercial utility and DOD clients. Until recently Kim was principal technical consultant for the Parsons Corporation on hydrogen technology, alternative energy assessments, uranium enrichment, environmental restoration and waste treatment projects.
DJ Houser is a Marketing and Product Development professional with 13 years of experience in strategic product, marketing, and business development. He has a Business Management degree from the Metropolitan State University of Denver and has worked as an independent consultant while directing and/or assisting with the launch and maintenance of several digital and physical products. DJ Currently works as the Marketing Director at a major consumer products company, serving digital, big box, and specialty markets. His multidisciplinary background also includes conceptual CAD design, motion graphics and content creation, and he was featured in a Business Success Story that was published by Facebook about his uniquely creative approach to capturing attention on paid social media campaigns.
